Sedation anesthesia

A method of anesthesia that temporarily lowers consciousness by intravenously administering propofol. Unlike general anesthesia, this MAC (Monitored Anesthesia Care) approach maintains spontaneous breathing while only reducing consciousness, with real-time monitoring of blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, and ECG.

Consciousness returns within about 10-15 minutes after the procedure ends. After stabilizing in the recovery room for 30-60 minutes, you may go home.

Why is fasting necessary?

Fasting for 8 hours before the procedure is essential to prevent nausea and the risk of aspiration during sedation.

Can I visit the clinic alone on the day of the procedure?

You cannot drive on the day of the procedure, and it is recommended to be accompanied by a guardian for safety during recovery.

Which procedures can be performed under sedation?

Sedation can be applied in procedures with greater pain, such as Ultherapy Prime, Thermage FLX, and thread lifting. Please confirm details during the pre-procedure consultation.
