Frequently Asked Questions
Is it true that nipple sensation decreases after implant surgery?
Some people become so sensitive after implant surgery that even a brush of the collar can make them jump, while others experience decreased sensation. This occurs because the implant, when inserted into the breast, stimulates the nerves on both the outer and inner parts of the breast, which may cause occasional tingling or dull sensations. In fact, this is a positive response indicating nerve recovery. For about 6 months to 1 year, while the body adapts, all sensations may repeatedly fluctuate between hypersensitivity and dullness, gradually returning to normal over time. In very rare cases, sensation may disappear, but if an experienced director performs the operation with proper dissection and minimizes tissue damage, the risks can be minimized.
Will my breasts sag a lot after implant surgery?
Breast implants alone do not make breasts more saggy or accelerate sagging. However, sagging due to decreased skin elasticity caused by aging may occur. The best way to help is to pay attention to moisturizing your breasts after surgery and to wear underwear that provides at least some breast support, such as a bralette, even at home.
After underarm incision breast implant surgery, my arm feels very numb.
This symptom can occur in patients with poor circulation. In the case of underarm incisions, the arm is kept extended to the side for over an hour, which can cause temporary numbness or decreased sensation. However, this is temporary and will recover over time.
Will the feel of the breast be unnatural?
The sensation may vary depending on the type of implant and insertion site. By choosing an implant appropriate for your skin thickness and tissue condition, you can achieve a more natural texture.
How much pain will there be after surgery?
There are individual differences, but for most people, the pain is not severe enough to interfere with daily life. There may be discomfort or a feeling of pressure initially post-surgery, but these symptoms gradually ease with time.
Can you keep implants for life without problems?
Currently used implants are highly durable and do not necessarily require regular replacement. However, changes due to aging or lifestyle may occur, so regular check-ups to monitor status are recommended.
